Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Taita Falcon Lodge’s guided gorge walking trail, descending 230 meters into the Batoka Gorge. This trail takes you through ancient indigenous forests, offering breathtaking views of the Zambezi River and its turbulent rapids. As you navigate the winding path, your experienced guide will share fascinating insights into the local flora and fauna, making this trek both educational and exhilarating. The descent culminates at the river’s edge, where you can feel the raw power of the Zambezi up close. Start your morning with a guided gorge walk 230 meters down into the Batoka Gorge.

Walking Trails and Running Loops

For those who are not keen on doing the gorge walk but still want to do some exercise we offer shorter / ‘gentler’ walking trails on the property ranging from 1.5km – 5km. There trails are a great opportunity to do some birding and to view the gorge from a different angle. 

Local Village Walking Tour

Get insight into daily life at the nearby local village 5km from Taita Falcon Lodge. This walking tours will include a visit to the local clinic as well as serval homes where you will be given insight into daily life. The tour will end at the craft market where you will have the opportunity to view and buy various handcrafted items.

Relaxation offered in various forms at Taita Falcon Lodge

At Taita Falcon Lodge, relaxation takes on many forms, allowing you to unwind and soak in the serene surroundings. Enjoy a swim in one of the lodge’s two swimming pools, perfect for cooling off on a warm day or after a Gorge Hike. Sink into giant bean bags, affectionately known as “fat sacks,” whilst flipping through some books or magazines. If none of that sounds appealing there is always the food to look forward to! Dining at Taita Falcon is an experience in itself, with delicious meals served in stunning settings, complemented by a selection of fine wines. Whether you’re eating, chilling, wining, or dining, every moment at Taita Falcon Lodge is designed to provide a relaxing and rejuvenating escape.
