Victoria Falls, locally known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” or “The Smoke That Thunders,” is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Situated on the Zambezi River at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is the largest waterfall in the world, based on its combined width of 1,708 meters (5,604 feet) and height of 108 meters (354 feet). This majestic waterfall was first sighted by David Livingstone in 1855, and it has since become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting millions of visitors each year.

1. Victoria Falls National Park 

Walking through Victoria Falls National Park offers an up-close view of the falls. The park features several viewpoints, including the Knife-Edge Bridge, which provides stunning views of the Eastern Cataract and the Boiling Pot.

2. Livingstone Island 

Named after David Livingstone, this island sits on the edge of the falls and offers an exhilarating experience. During the dry season, visitors can swim in the Devil’s Pool, a natural rock pool right on the edge of the waterfall.

3. Boiling Pot Hike 

For the adventurous, the hike down to the Boiling Pot at the base of the falls is a must. The path winds through lush rainforest and provides unique perspectives of the falls and the Victoria Falls Bridge.

4. Sunset Cruises on the Zambezi River 

Relax with a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. These cruises offer spectacular views of the sunset over the river, often accompanied by sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and elephants along the banks.
